This was a movie that was set up to have a large emotional impact, but it fell seriously short of that. The basic premise is that a guy was struggling with being gay and after a fight with his boyfriend the guy ends his own life. Sometime later his younger brother comes to town to confront the boyfriend. This was not a lot of romance story and it sets itself up for one of reflection and personal growth, but that doesn't much happen either. The movie starts on an odd note as the first 14 minutes there is no dialogue, it's just 2 guys wandering the town without having any idea who they were. Then there is a confrontation which quickly fizzled into nothing really. The brother was waiting for an apology and decides to sleep on the boyfriend's family patio until he gets it. During that time he spends time with the boyfriend's terminally ill brother. Finally, there is one scene where the boyfriend apologizes, followed by a scene where the brother realizes that the boyfriend is not totally at fault and then a whole bunch of hanging out. There are also plot holes, for example the brother knew that the guy and the boyfriend had a fight, but the viewer as no idea how he knows as he wasn't even in the country when the fight happened. Spoilers! Kind of, maybe - it's hard to spoil a movie that doesn't really have an ending. Basically, the brother wanders off, the boyfriend goes looking for him and finds him on the beach and they stand there, not talking, just looking at each other. A lackluster ending to a movie filled with wasted potential and little emotional impact.
