The Draft! (2026)

At last, I got to watch a film I had been eagerly waiting for. It takes on a meta-horror theme with a premise that initially seems very simple, but turns out to be surprisingly unexpected.

Even though it’s not perfect and there are still quite a few flaws I noticed, I feel this film is quite important for the Indonesian film industry. It delivers satire and criticism toward Indonesian horror, a genre that increasingly feels like it’s being exploited merely as a money-making machine.

As another reviewer said about this film: don’t look up too much about it. Just sit back, go in blind, and watch the movie.
