Clunky sequel coasts on the cast's chemistry and some fun musical numbers. But definitely a step down from the effortless original.

'Pitch Perfect 2' was not as good as first. The musical numbers were not as memorable as the first. It simply wasn't as funny as the first. Anna Kendrick showed that she was a good singer though but the film lacked any real story.

Improves towards the end, but for the most part <em>'Pitch Perfect 2'</em> is a disappointing sequel.

I wouldn't say it's anything bad, but even soon after viewing I am struggling to remember any good moments from it. I found the cast and music to be the big plus points to <em>'Pitch Perfect'</em>, though both of those things are off in this follow-up.

Anna Kendrick (Beca) doesn't really do anything, at least very little that's even close to being memorable. Skylar Astin (Jesse) takes a back seat, which I don't actually think is a negative. Adam Devine (Bumper) and Rebel Wilson (Fat Amy) aren't as amusing, though the story featuring those two probably did interest me most. Hailee Steinfeld, meanwhile, is an alright addition.

Not a sequel I liked. Hopefully the third film improves upon this.

Now it's senior year in college and the group gets kicked out of the competition. Now they have to figure out a way to compete. Not as good as the first but I think this one is funnier than the first.

Weakest of the trilogy? I still have to rewatch PP3 to be completely sure but, compared to the first one, the delusions of grandeur of Pitch Perfect 2 weighs it down. The only memorable moment is the ending and even that doesn't compare to the ICCA Finals. It's less funny, it's bloated (I'll die on the hill that Amy and Bumper's side story was completely unnecessary and unmoving, specially considering how little we see of Jesse and Beca—who might as well have already broken up), the riff off is painful, we don't even actually get to see much of their work as a group gearing up to Worlds aside from the retreat.

Really, I was telling my friend that the only reason the Bellas winning Worlds agains DSM makes sense is because while DSM is a fun crowd pleaser, the Bellas were being practically held at gun point to win or disappear, making the emotional stakes the sole factor tipping the scales in their favor. But, there was an unfortunate a loss of potential. Bless my Bellas, though. These are my girls forever.
