FISTULE (2026)

In his new film, ‘Fistule,’ Emre Busse welcomes the audience into a realm where fistule serves as a dramatic springboard, exposing the absurdity of societal norms with a mix of tragedy, camp, and sexuality. As these norms tighten their grip like a sphincter, an undercurrent of pain and pleasure emerges, thrusting the fistule into the spotlight of a theatrical whirlwind with operatic flair. Amidst this crescendo, our protagonist, the mysterious fistule, journeys through a landscape rife with desire and discord. Built upon the texts of Christian Liclair, Nikolaj Tange Lange, and Emre Busse, ‘Fistule’ invites viewers on a journey of introspection and celebration of the silent tormentor. In a symphony of defiance, fistule not only shatters the brittle veneer of societal orthodoxy and rips through the status quo.
