Dragon Quest: Your Story brings a beloved game to life with stunning visuals and emotional storytelling, though it deviates sharply in its final act. While the animation is clean and colorful, it lacks a distinct Japanese anime feel. The story builds steadily with a strong foundation, though pacing issues and abrupt transitions hinder immersion. The twist ending—revealing the world as a simulation—feels jarring and controversial, especially for fans of the original game. Still, the film delivers a heartfelt message on nostalgia and the meaning games hold in our lives.
